# Connect Squarespace to ChatRex

The Squarespace integration gives a ChatRex assistant read-only access to the published catalog of one Squarespace Commerce site. The assistant can search products and variants, retrieve current prices, check live inventory, and share public product links.

ChatRex does not request customers or orders and cannot modify the Squarespace catalog.

# Before you connect

Make sure you have:

• a Squarespace site with Commerce enabled;
• at least one visible, published product;
• a Squarespace user who can manage the required site;
• an active ChatRex account and bot.

# Connect the site

1. In ChatRex, open Integrations.
2. Select Connect integration, choose Data sources, and find Squarespace.
3. Click Connect.
4. On the Squarespace authorization page, select the required site and allow ChatRex to read products and inventory.
5. After Squarespace redirects you back, confirm the site connection in ChatRex.
6. Wait for the Connected status and choose the integration subscription if ChatRex prompts you.

The connection is limited to the site selected during authorization. No API key, archive, or embed code is required. ChatRex requests only website.products.read and website.inventory.read.

# Add assistant actions

Open the bot, go to Integrations and actions, and add any of these actions:

• Search Squarespace products — searches visible products and variants by query, with optional SKU, category, and variant filters;
• Get Squarespace product — returns a published product, variants, SKUs, prices, currency, media, and public URL;
• Check Squarespace inventory — checks live inventory for an exact variant;
• Get Squarespace product URL — returns the verified public product address.

Use the exact product_id and variant_id returned by product search. If a product has multiple variants, the assistant should ask the customer to choose the required option before checking inventory. Do not combine inventory across variants.

# Test the connection

1. Open a visible product with multiple variants in Squarespace.
2. Ask a ChatRex test bot to find it.
3. Compare the returned title, SKU, price, and currency with the published storefront.
4. Select one variant and check its inventory.
5. Open the returned product link in a separate tab.

Hidden products and data from other Squarespace sites must not appear in the response.

# Disconnect

Open the Squarespace integration settings in ChatRex and select Disconnect. ChatRex deletes its stored OAuth grants and deactivates the integration. If the app was installed through Squarespace Extensions, remove it from the Squarespace site settings when access is no longer required.
