Connecting VK
VK direct integration transmits new community messages to ChatRex and sends bot responses on behalf of the community. To connect, you do not need to create an access key, copy the community ID or manually configure the Callback API: the community and permissions are selected in the official ChatRex application in VK.
ChatRex accepts incoming text, photos, documents and voice messages. Voice messages are transmitted for recognition, and images and documents can be used by the bot in processing the appeal.
Before connecting n
Prepare:
- ChatRex account;
- VK community with included messages;
- VK account with administrator rights of the desired community.
You can only connect one community to one ChatRex account.
Community Connection
- In ChatRex, open Integrations.
- Press Connect integration.
- On the Channels tab, select VK and click Connect.
- In the integration settings, click Open VK.
- If the application offers to log in, click Login to ChatRex and log in to the desired account. After logging in, return to the VK app.
- Click Select community.
- Choose the community you manage.
- Confirm the requested VK access to community management and its messages.
- Wait for the message Community connected.
Once confirmed, ChatRex will verify the rights and automatically configure to receive new messages. The community ID and the issued VK key are transmitted securely by the application - you do not need to enter or copy them manually.
note
Before confirming, check the ChatRex account listed at the top of the app. If another account is opened, click Login and log in again.
Important: Connection error in the mini application
If the mini-application shows the message "Failed to complete the VK notification setting" and the button Connect the community again:
- Open the right VK community.
- Go to Management>Apps.
- Remove the ChatRex app from the community.
- Open the ChatRex mini application again (https://vk.ru/app54694592).
- Press Connect the community again.
- Choose a community and re-confirm all the permissions you have requested.
Reconnect through the mini-application. You do not need to create a community access key and manually configure the Callback API.
Channel subscription
Once connected, ChatRex will automatically add VK to a suitable valid subscription if there is free space for the channel.
There are three possible outcomes:
- the channel is added to the subscription automatically - you can proceed to the appointment of the bot;
- The account is in use without a subscription fee - a separate subscription to the channel is not yet required;
- There is no suitable subscription or free space – add a VK channel to the subscription manually in ChatRex.
Designation of a botoo channel
- Open My Bots and press Change opposite the desired bot.
- Go to Channels and Launch.
- In Conditions on channels click Add channel.
- Select the connected VK.
- If necessary, set additional conditions and working hours.
- Save the changes.
Chat in the community app
Once connected, ChatRex remains available on the VK community page:
- The administrator sees that the community is already connected.
- A community visitor can open the application and write to the designated bot directly in it.
- If the channel is not assigned to any bot, the visitor will see a message that the chat is not yet available.
Dialogues from the app are processed in ChatRex. To respond to the bot on the account of the owner must be available balance.
Verification
- Send a test message to the VK community on behalf of a regular user.
- Wait for the bot's text response.
- Open History or Chats in ChatRex and find the test dialog.
- Check the text of the request, the response and the result of the processing.
- Additionally, send a test photo, document or voice message if the bot needs to work with such attachments.
If the bot does not respond, check:
- whether community messages are included;
- whether the connection of the community in the VK application is completed;
- whether the subscription to the channel is active, if it is required for your account;
- Is the channel assigned to the right bot?
- Whether the call, time and other launch conditions are appropriate;
- Is there enough money on the ChatRex balance sheet?
If the community is not connected
- No access granted. Re-select a community where you have administrator rights and confirm all permissions requested.
- VK has not confirmed access. Press Allow access again and confirm the rights again.
- The community is already connected. It is linked to another ChatRex account. First, disable the integration in that account or contact its owner.
- Notifications are available. Remove ChatRex from community apps and install it again through the mini app as instructed above.
- VK does not respond long. Close the application, open it again and press Check Connection Status. Choose another community if necessary.
Transfer of dialogue to staff
If necessary, stop the automatic processing and continue the dialogue with the client via ChatsChatRex.
note
The administrator’s response directly to the VK interface does not automatically stop the bot in ChatRex. Before a manual response, stop processing the dialog in ChatRex so that the bot and the employee don’t respond at the same time.
Disconnection and reconnection
To revoke ChatRex access, disable VK integration in ChatRex. If necessary, also uninstall the ChatRex app under Manage > Applications of the selected VK community.
To reconnect, open VK integration and go back to the app. Choose a community and confirm permissions. You do not need to create a community access key or manually configure the Callback API.
