Connect Ecwid to ChatRex
The Ecwid integration gives a ChatRex assistant read-only access to the published catalog of one Ecwid store. The assistant can search products and variants, retrieve current prices, check live inventory, and share public product links.
ChatRex does not receive orders or customer records and cannot create, edit, or delete catalog data.
#
Before you connect
Make sure you have:
- administrator access to the required Ecwid store;
- at least one enabled product published in the storefront;
- a ChatRex account with an active bot.
#
Connect the store
- Find ChatRex in the Ecwid App Market and select Install.
- Review and approve read-only access to the store profile and product catalog.
- When Ecwid redirects you to ChatRex, sign in to your ChatRex account.
- Confirm the store connection.
- Wait for the catalog check and the Connected status.
- Choose the integration subscription when ChatRex prompts you.
The connection is linked to the Ecwid store from which the app was installed. No archive, API key, or code snippet is required.
#
Add assistant actions
Open the bot, go to Integrations and actions, and add any of these actions:
- Search Ecwid products — searches enabled products and variants;
- Get Ecwid product — returns the selected product, variants, current prices, and storefront link;
- Check Ecwid inventory — reads current inventory for a product or exact variant;
- Get Ecwid product URL — returns the canonical product link for the current storefront.
Use the exact product and variant identifiers returned by product search. If a product has multiple variants, the assistant should ask the customer to select the required option before checking inventory.
#
Test the connection
- Open an enabled test product in Ecwid.
- Ask the assistant to find that product in a ChatRex test chat.
- Compare the returned title, variant, price, and currency with the live storefront.
- Check inventory for the exact variant.
- Open the returned storefront link in a separate window.
Only enabled products from the connected store should appear, and the returned URL should open the current public storefront.
#
Disconnect
Open the Ecwid integration settings in ChatRex and select Disconnect. Then remove ChatRex under My Apps in Ecwid. Removing the Ecwid app also revokes ChatRex access to the store catalog.
